Book Review: Midnight in Washington

I just finished reading Midnight in Washington by Congressman Peter Schiff. While I didn’t agree with many aspects of the book, he does provide a firsthand account of what happened on January 6th, 2021 when the Capitol building was raided. I’ve also placed a link to the History.com description of the riot for anyone who may be unfamiliar with it. My book review is below.

Midnight in Washington: How We Almost Lost Our Democracy and Still Could by Adam Schiff

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I felt this book was rather slanted, but it is a detailed firsthand testimony of what happened on January 6th. I like that the author also discussed his background (including how he came to be a Congressman), and his family and how his career affects their lives. If you are seeking a liberal view on what the holdup of Congress on January 6th, this may be interesting to you. It also may be of interest to anyone studying political science.

I do have to give it just three stars though, because Peter Schiff solely presents the liberal perspective, and does rarely discusses an alternative perspective in anything but a negative light.
